SACAP publishes its fees as guideline tariffs, not prescribed minimums or maximums. Nothing the platform calculates is binding on you or your client.
The one difference
Everything you produce is marked as student work.
You are learning to run a practice, not offering professional architectural services — so anything that leaves your account says so. The marking is applied by the server when the document or email is produced, which means it is not something you can switch off, and not something anyone can talk you into removing.

A marked band above the message, a footer below it, and a subject prefix.
Quotes and invoices
Marked as student work rather than a professional fee quotation or tax invoice.

The same identification travels onto client-facing print output.
Worth being direct about: your account is marked as a student account from the moment you tell us you are a student. Verification confirms that you are studying — it is not a way to remove the marking, and finishing it later does not change how your work is labelled.
Verification
Two ways to prove you are studying.
Your university email
Verify with your institution email address and confirm from your inbox. The quickest route if your school’s domain is on the register.
Upload proof
Send a student card or registration letter for review. We keep it only as long as we need it, and it is destroyed when your account is.
Recognised institutions include University of Cape Town, University of the Witwatersrand, Stellenbosch University, University of Pretoria, University of Johannesburg, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Nelson Mandela University, University of the Free State, Durban University of Technology, Tshwane University of Technology and Cape Peninsula University of Technology — and the list grows. If yours is not listed yet, choose “other” and upload proof instead.
Verification expires and can be renewed, so your status stays current as you move through your degree.

After you qualify
Your work comes with you.
When you are ready to practise, you convert the account to a professional one. Every project, client, document and hour you logged stays exactly where it is — nothing is migrated, exported or rebuilt. What you started as a student, you keep.
The documents you produced while studying keep their student marking permanently. That is deliberate: a drawing issued as student work does not quietly become a professional issue because your status changed afterwards.
